  • Description: Unbranched, forming large mounds of stems. Stems erect, cylindric. Spines 3-11 per aereole, straight to curved or contorted. Flowers a flower tube 20-35mm. Inner tepals bright orange-red to dark red. Anthers usually pink to purple, Fruits green to yellow-green or pink, pulp white. Flowering April-June.
