  • Description: Erect or ascending perennials, 1.5-6 dm; leaflets 7-15, elliptic or oblong, 1-3.5 cm long, with a faint venation; inflorescence with 5-numerous ascending or spreading flowers; calyx tube 2.5-3.5 mm long, conspicuously hairy; flowers purple-red to pink, or occasionally white, 1.2-2 (2.5) cm long; legumes with 2-7 segments, each segment elliptic or orbicular, transversely striate and reticulate. Common in rocky or sandy soil, 4000-9000 ft. May-July.
