  • Description: Caulescent, ascending perennials, 2-8 dm; leaflets 5-9 elliptic to narrowly lanceolate, flat or folded, 5-7 times as long as wide, hairy; inflorescence with 10-numerous flowers; calyx shortly spurred; flowers purple or sometimes white, 8-14 mm long, the banner usually hairy dorsally near the middle; legumes 2-3 cm X8-9 mm. Common on dry, open hillsides and along roadsides, occasionally found in moist meadows, 5300-10,500 ft. May-Sept.
