Description: Shrub up to 3m tall. Alternate leaves, ternately compound or simple with leaflets 1-5 cm long, usualy 3-lobed sometimes coarsely toothed, glabrous or puberulent on one or both sides. Inflorescence lateral flowers arising from twigs of the previous years and in dense, spikelike clusters. Fruits are drupes crowded in clusters reddish-orange, rounded, 5-8 mm diameter, covered with short, sticky, red hairs. Grows on dry hillsides, canyons, and mesas.
