- Description: Perennial shrub with numerous branching often rooting where in contact with the ground with bark gray or brown. Alternate leaves 3-lobed and wedge-shaped, 0.5-3 cm long, sparsely hairy, margins rolled under and petiole short. Flowers are solitary and at the ends of leafy lateral branches, 3-5.5 mm long, petals 5 and 4-7 mm long, yellow. Found on dry slopes, hillsides, sagebrush and pi-on-juniper woodlands, ponderosa pine forests.
