Description: Perennial forb. Creeping dark brown or black roots with scaly buds. Stems and leaves become glabrous and green with age. Rosette leaves are pinnately lobed to entire. Lower leaves are also pinnately lobed, upper leaves become reduced, sessile, serrate to entire. Flowers are pink to purplish in numerous terminating branches.
